UK Adapta December Update


Italian-born, Alex Fakso began his career in the early 90s as a skate photographer. He subsequently embarked upon a more targeted personal quest which led him to record the entire process of graffiti writers in action, in both train and subway depots. A skater and graffiti writer himself, he has a raw, direct, uncompromising approach to photography and is always looking for images that portray hard and extreme situations.

Bumping into each other in an a la page way somewhere in Paris 3 years ago, Teenage Bad Girl, Greg Kazubski and Guillaume Manbell have been creating music together ever since, and released a number of remixes including the well-recognised one for the Scissor Sisters and also their own debut album "Cocotte" on Citizen Records in 2007.

LDNiCON is about celebrating Londons architectural endevours and uncovering the quirky, sometimes seemingly bland, components of the city. We are not focused on headline city architecture, rather, second course servings of LondonĂ¢€™s buildings and the spaces between them. These components represent the mass of the city and contribute more to the spatial experience than well-recognised buildings in London - the experience that most Londoners live through in their day-to-day existence. This is what we are most interested in.

- Can you tell us a little bit about yourself as a fashion designer and your brand.

W: I live and work for my own brand in Vienna since 2005. Before that I was in Milan for one year, working as a men's shoe-designer for Bally, having graduated in 2004 at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. After being a finalist at the Hyeres Festival in 2005 I decided to start the brand carrying the same name as me.
